IDC's chart on the worldwide total disk storage systems market highlights the top 5 vendors. They are EMC, HP, IBM, Dell and NetApp. HP and IBM experienced surges in the second quarter of this year. IBM saw the largest increase in market share at 2.7%, allowing it to jump ahead of Dell and NetApp into the third spot.

Meanwhile Dell and NetApp took losses, with NetApp suffering the most with a 1.9% decrease in market share.

Market share is based on revenue.
