comScore recently released data on media device usage demographics. Their findings reveal that iPad ownership in the U.S. demonstrates the heaviest skew toward 25-34 year olds (27%). Overall, iPad ownership is significantly above average among the 18-24 year old and 35-44 year old segments. This demographic profile is similar to that of the overall smartphone user base – an indication that the advanced mobile capabilities and features, and not necessarily the device itself, might be the primary driver behind this age profile.
